Promises

I'm not a big sharer of my feelings, especially out here in the big, wide, internet world, but I needed to share this story:   A few days ago I was having a bad baby waiting day.  We've been paper ready and "officially" waiting for 15 months, but really waiting 27 months as we saved up for the adoption expences.  It's been a lot harder than I thought it would be, and I thought it would be hard.  I know that as we are not ordinary adopters, already raising four kids, and that will make our wait longer than average, but that doesn't make it any easier!

So on my bad waiting day, I was crying out to God, just wondering if this baby was every REALLY going to happen, and why it was taking so, so, SO long, why He didn't wait until our baby was ready before He told us to do this, and so on.

OK really, I was pouting.  I want what I want, RIGHT NOW! Oh, so grown up, right?

Then my husband, who didn't even know about my pout-a-thon, called and told me to go outside and look at the sky.  He knows I am my father's child, and love a good tornado cloud, and assumed that's what I'd see.  I went out onto the porch, and saw the most beautiful double rainbow.  It was bright and clear, and compete, end to end.  It was also exactly what I needed that afternoon.

God keeps his promises!

Been thinking about you and your family as you go through this long process. I know it will be totally worth the wait! So glad God reminded you of that - some days can be just so hard!

Incredible! I thought you already had adopted. Praying the little one God is going to place in your home.

God does keep His promises! I'm glad you got to have a bit of an encouragement.

(but as someone who has adopted multiple times, I also know how hard the wait can be and how discouraging some days are) - hang in there. God has a plan for your family and when you are all together finally, you will begin to understand the timing of everything.
