Pre Visit Jitters

Our home visit is Monday!

I know there is no reason to be nervous, but I AM!  I will be frantically cleaning my house for the next few days, because I want it to be perfect.  OK, I know perfect's not happening, but how about really nice?  OK, maybe just cleaner.

And she wants to interview the kids.  In my head I said "Ahhhhhh!" when she mentioned that part.  Between Buddy's quirky sense of humor and Mac's total lack of any verbal self control, I'd like to have pause buttons installed, just to give them a moment to think before they blurt. Here's a sample of my imagination:

She: So, do you have any pets?
Mac: Do you want to hold my HISSING COCKROACHES?
She: Runs screaming from the building.

You know it'll happen!

: ) Totally get the jitters...just have MAC swab the poop deck & you'll be fine.

And, remember, although it was a post-placement visit, our Social Worker arrived to find our son sitting on the couch crying, with a red welt on his cheek. Our daughter, whom our social worker had never met before!, was screaming from her bedroom. My husband wasn't home (& didn't arrive home for another 30 min. or so) & when he did get home, sat in the relincer & feel asleep.

We still have both kids, so you're probably safe...unless Becky gets out & crawls up her leg. : )

I can't wait to hear about it!!!!

Wow! Good luck with that! I can't imagine what my kids would say! LOL! But I'm sure the interviewer probably has kids too and understands that they really do say the darndest things! Seriously, this post has me giggling out loud just imagining all the possibilities. Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Good luck with your visit, I'm sure anything she hears at your house won't be anything she hasn't heard before! Remember, nervous laughter makes you sound guilty! lol

I know exactly how you feel! I scrubbed and scrubbed for our home visit, and the social worker didn't even look in half the rooms! Oh well, at least I had a clean house....for 5 minutes :-)
