Just Kidding

Mac has been working on his joke telling skills. I've been through this a couple times, so the family rule is fairly well established. It seems that joke telling, like all skills, takes practice, and we all need encouragement when acquiring new skills, so.....Laugh at 'em, no matter how dumb. I explained to the big kids that we laughed at their first, nonsensical jokes, and they got better, so now they must do their part for the younger kids.

His jokes seem to run along 2 lines, knock-knock, and chicken crossings. Usually they make absolutely NO sense, but today's little beauty had even the people at the tables surrounding ours spitting soda.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the fart factory!

Comic genius? Well, maybe not, but practice makes perfect!

Oh my...I'm not sure my son can be friends with yours anymore. We don't need fart jokes at our house! : )

Thank you so much for the homeschooling tips. I have tried playdough, paint, crayons, markers and scissors but the sorting thing....you might be onto something there! I think my twins will LOVE that! Also, I think I need to implement your rule about "school time only" activities. I have that about some toys, and then inevitably I forget about them.

I swear that homeschooling is taking me by surprise b/c I USED to be a public school teacher. This is WAY harder.

Also, love the little kid jokes. Our Elizabeth (who I'm guessing is about the same age as Mac) is also into knock knock jokes as well. She also says, "I'm just teasin'" as the final punch line.

Oh, and I love "asian~treasures" comment. Hysterical.
