Social Worker Call

I sent an e-mail to our social worker a few days ago, just to give her the details on what was going on

and she called me back today.

I shared with her what we were thinking, our concerns and asked lots of questions.

She was wonderful, and asked us to take a "wait and see" stance.

She really encouraged us to make the trip in March (which we were planning on doing anyway) for the birthday party.  She said that since Mama E still wants us to come to the hospital, that we should absolutely be there.

She was very encouraging, and pretty much agreed that no one would know what to expect until the time comes.

She also mentioned that Mama E wished we had more contact.

This totally surprised me!  We chat at least every other week, as well as sending texts and pictures to her phone.  We've sent several packages, and we maintain a private blog for her.

I thought we were doing well in the communication department!  She assured me that we were doing just fine, and had more contact than the average family, but that it benefits us all to up the contact right now.

I'm still disappointed that Mama E feels like we are not doing as well as she'd like.

So, I asked for some suggestions on how I could do better.  She just suggested more of everything.   More texts, more calls, more pictures.

I'll admit right now that's going to be hard.  Not because I don't want to, but because I'm so busy schooling, and driving and mothering and raising five kids, one of which is cutting teeth AND walking, and, and, and.....

Praying for you and Mama E. I can't imagine the strength it took her to give darling Babycakes the wonderful life he has with you. And I can't imagine the thought of doing it twice. You sound like you're so open and encouraging with her. Praying you will find the strength and grace to keep on, keeping on! (and giving a bit more) Wish I could give you a hug!

Happened to click on your blog the other day for a Keesler update. Wow! Praying for you as you wait for Mama E's decision. Life is never dull, huh?
