We at Keesler Chaos tend to have some rather quirky family traditions.

Does that surprise anyone?

And one of our favorites is the traditional Thanksgiving corn-dog.

Yes, I said corn-dog.

It started 14 years ago, when Buddy was a wee little guy,

we'd just moved to a new state,

where we knew not a soul,

but Hubs the retail guy had to be at work all day.

So rather than mope,

we made the best of it, and met him at the only place that we could afford,

and get in and out of in his one hour lunch,

which happened to be the snack bar.

We ordered toddler friendly corn-dogs, and tater-tots.

Wouldn't you know it, the next year, Hubs had to work again!

So we repeated, now with two little ones, and joked about our new family tradition.

The next year, Hubs was off, but just to be funny,

I served corn-dogs and tater-tots for lunch, before our more traditional dinner.

And so it's gone, for all these years!

The kids would freak out if we didn't have them,

and I admit that I'd miss it too.

So, what are you having for lunch today?
