IT"S TIME! IT"S TIME! I Can't Believe it's Time!

One year ago, almost to the day, two friends and I met a plane at midnight.  On that plane was my friend Sheri, her husband David, and Mac's best buddy, along with the reason for the trip.  They were coming home from Vietnam, and bringing back their new daughter, and little sister.
She was obviously overwhelmed, and tired of being on a 30 hour succession of airplanes, but simply adorable.  As her parents gathered their luggage, She swung from smiles and giggles to solemn staring.  I was awed at the thought that my dear friends, whom we'd celebrated, mourned, waited impatiently and prayed with were finally home, and SHE WAS HERE!  It was a life altering experience.
I went home that night and told my husband that I wanted to do that!  I wanted to be part of that miracle!  I wanted him to jump up and say, "Sure!  Let's get started!".  Wouldn't that have been a great story?  Instead he said "You always want another baby." rolled over and went to sleep.  Not exactly the response I was looking for.

A few days later I sat him down and convinced him I meant it.  It was more than just a hankerin' for a cuddle with a sweet smelling baby.  I really did want to add a real life child to our crowded and crazy life. He knows I've always wanted to adopt or foster, so it shouldn't have been a surprise, but it took him a while to realize I meant now.  After a few weeks of discussing the details, we made the decision to get started.  His one major issue was financing.  While I wanted to throw the details to the wind and start filling out paperwork, he thought we should have at least half the financing before we did anything.

So we asked our friends and family to join us in praying for this decision, and they did. And then they did even more.  They cleaned out their closets, drawers and garages to donate their stuff to our first fund raising, a garage sale.  And not only that, they came and hung out in my driveway keeping me company, making change, bringing lunch, making cookies to sell, and buying each others stuff.  At the end of the weekend, we opened up our "baby account" with a $700 deposit!  Since then we've saved a bit, earned a bit and prayed a bit, and got nowhere near half.

And then, a few weeks ago, out of the bue, we had it ALL.  Yes, you read that right, not half, but ALL of it!  So, guess what I put in the mail this morning?
