Day One in Idaho

Here follows our week: A trip to Idaho for Uncle Danny's wedding.

The first day in the car went great! The kids were eager to listen to the audio book I'd brought, and Mac, the boy who never colors, spent the day happily coloring! Day two was OK, but we were all tired of being in the car, and happy to finally arrive. I'm having the kids keep travel journals, like Lewis and Clark did, as we will not only be doing that unit next for school, but we are following their trail as we travel west! I had anticipated a bit of grumbling, but to my surprise, the kids happily wrote of their travels, and drew the animals they'd seen along the way!

We woke up on Friday and took the kids down to eat our "free" breakfast. Turns out not so free, but our table companions were worth it!
We visited with Mike's family, helped set up the tables for the reception, and headed to lunch with Grandpa. As we were leaving, who should arrive, but the two funnest uncles ever! They stopped on their way back from fishing to fill their jackets with snow, and we had a snowball fight in the parking lot....in the 80* heat!
